01 In short
What does Exyconn build for retail and e-commerce?
AI for retail is a group of agents that handle the questions and chores around every order: helping a shopper choose, recovering a cart on WhatsApp, answering where a parcel is, booking a return pickup and warning you before a bestseller runs out. Exyconn designs, builds and runs them on your storefront (Shopify, WooCommerce or your own), order management system and courier aggregator. Your support team handles the cases that need judgement.
Why retailers are doing this now
- Shoppers already ask product questions on WhatsApp and Instagram, and expect a reply before they close the tab.
- Order-status questions make up a large share of support tickets, and the answer is already sitting in the courier feed.
- On cash-on-delivery orders, a quick confirmation message before dispatch can stop a parcel coming back unopened.
- Returns and exchanges cost twice: the reverse shipment and the hours spent agreeing what happens next.
- Stockouts on bestsellers and dead stock on slow lines both start as a forecast nobody had time to make.
02 The reality
Where a store's hours actually go
Ask anyone running a D2C brand or a chain of stores. The list is long, and almost none of it is selling.
- R/01
Pre-sale questions nobody answers in time
Size, fabric, "will it fit a 15-inch laptop". A shopper who doesn't get an answer within minutes buys the same thing on a marketplace.
- R/02
Carts left at the payment page
Shoppers drop off over shipping charges, a failed UPI payment or a doubt about returns. A generic reminder email rarely brings them back.
- R/03
"Where is my order?" all day
The agent opening the courier panel to copy a tracking status into a reply is the most common support task in the business.
- R/04
Parcels coming back unopened
Wrong addresses, unreachable phones and second thoughts on COD orders turn into return-to-origin shipments you pay for both ways.
- R/05
Returns handled by hand
Checking the window, asking for photos, deciding refund or exchange and booking reverse pickup takes several messages per return.
- R/06
Reorders by instinct
Purchase decisions come from last month's sales sheet, so a festive spike or a viral post leaves you out of stock in the sizes that sell.
03 Use cases
Six jobs AI takes off your team's plate
- 01
Product discovery assistant
Answers "what goes with this" and "which size" questions on your site and chat from your catalogue, size charts and reviews, and only recommends what is in stock.
- 02
WhatsApp commerce and cart recovery
Shows products and takes orders inside WhatsApp, follows up an abandoned cart with the shopper's actual question answered, and confirms COD orders before they ship.
- 03
Order tracking without a ticket
Reads live status from your OMS and courier aggregator, answers "where is my order" in the chat, and acts on failed-delivery reports by confirming the address or a new slot.
- 04
Returns and exchanges
Checks the order against your return window and policy, collects photos, offers an exchange size when it is in stock and books the reverse pickup. Exceptions go to your team.
- 05
Stock and demand forecasting
Projects demand by SKU and size from sales history, seasonality and upcoming campaigns, and drafts a reorder list for your buyer to approve.
- 06
Campaigns and reviews
Sends back-in-stock and new-drop messages to customers who opted in, asks for reviews after delivery and drafts replies to the critical ones for approval.
04 A day with it running
One day at a D2C apparel brand
Follow a weekday in the run-up to a sale. Each moment lights the part of the store the agent is working on.
-
08:00
Last night's COD orders confirmed
Overnight COD orders get a WhatsApp check of address and intent. Two shoppers cancel, one fixes a wrong pin code, and only confirmed orders go to the warehouse.
-
10:30
Tracking questions answered in the chat
A run of "where is my order" messages gets live courier status in reply. One failed delivery is rescheduled for the evening with the customer's new landmark.
-
12:45
A shopper finds the right fit
A visitor asks which jeans suit a taller frame. The agent suggests two fits with the longer inseam, both in stock in her size, and she checks out.
-
15:10
An exchange instead of a refund
A customer says the shirt is tight. The agent confirms it is within the window, offers the next size up and books a pickup that brings the new one.
-
18:00
Back in stock, to the right people
The restocked olive kurta goes out only to customers who asked to be told. The agent also drafts a reply to a two-star review about late delivery.
-
22:30
A reorder list before the sale
Sell-through on the week's bestsellers is projected against the sale dates. The buyer wakes up to a reorder list by size, ready to approve or edit.
05 How it connects
Built on the systems you already run
06 By business
What it looks like for your kind of store
Your own site, your own customers
D2C brands
Brands that sell mostly through their own site gain the most on both ends of the order. We usually start with order tracking and COD confirmation, then add pre-sale help and cart recovery.
- Works with Shopify, WooCommerce or a custom store
- COD confirmation and failed-delivery follow-up
- Cart recovery on WhatsApp for opted-in shoppers
Many channels, one inventory
Marketplace sellers
When orders come from your site and several marketplaces, the agents work from one order and stock view, so customers on your own channels get accurate answers and reorders account for every channel.
- Order and stock data from your OMS across channels
- Forecasts that include marketplace sales
- Support for your own site and WhatsApp customers
Stores and online together
Omnichannel retailers
Retailers with physical stores connect POS and online stock, so the agent can tell a shopper which store has her size, reserve it, and handle returns bought online and brought back in store.
- Store-level stock checks and reservations
- Returns across online and in-store purchases
- Reporting by store, channel and category
07 Rollout
Live before your next sale
We start with the questions your support inbox gets most, which is almost always order status.
-
01 · Week 1
Read the inbox
We go through a sample of real tickets and chats, list your storefront, OMS and courier setup, and agree your return policy and handover rules in writing.
-
02 · Weeks 2–3
Tracking and COD first
Order tracking and COD confirmation go live on WhatsApp and site chat, with your team checking replies in the first days.
-
03 · Weeks 4–7
Add selling and returns
Product discovery, cart recovery, returns and campaign messages are switched on one at a time, each with its own approval rules.
-
04 · Ongoing
Run and improve
We review conversations, retrain on missed questions, update the agent before each sale and add stock forecasting once there is enough clean history.

09 FAQ
Questions retailers ask us
Does this replace our customer support team?
No. It takes the routine questions such as order status, sizes and return windows, and passes damaged goods, payment disputes and unhappy customers to your team with the order and the conversation attached.
Which platforms can it connect to?
Storefronts such as Shopify and WooCommerce, order management systems, courier aggregators, payment gateways and POS systems, as long as they have an API or a dependable export. We confirm exactly what your stack allows in the first week.
Can the agent issue refunds on its own?
Only if you decide it should, within limits you set, for example store credit on items under a certain value. By default it collects the details and photos, and a person approves the refund.
Can customers write in Hindi or Hinglish?
Yes. The agent replies in the language and mix the customer uses, including Hinglish and other Indian languages, and your catalogue and policies stay written once.
Is customer data handled properly?
Order and contact data stay in your systems and an environment set up for your store, with role-based access and an audit log. Marketing messages go only to customers who opted in, and the setup follows India's DPDP Act 2023 and the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, or the GDPR for European customers.
What does it cost?
It depends on order volume, channels and the systems we connect. Most stores start with order tracking and COD confirmation at a fixed price for the first phase. Tell us about your store and we'll quote it.
